10 Habits Will Damage Your Oily Skin
10 Habits Will Damage Your Oily Skin:
Oily skin is one of the most sensitive skin types since it is constantly impacted by weather and external factors due to the secretion of sebum and skin oils. And, in the absence of a proper skincare routine, the skin will produce more sebum and may cause acne.
1- Using strong peeling cosmetics:
Peeling products aid in the peeling of the first layers of skin and pimples removal. And overuse of strong peeling products will cause skin pores, leaving it more vulnerable to bacteria and resulting in pimples and white and blackheads.
2- Not using a moisturizer:
Some people think that oily skin doesn’t need to be moisturized as it already secretes sebum & oils, and this is totally untrue. When the skin is dry it secretes more and more sebum. So, we recommend using a medical moisturizer for oily skin.
3- Using too much makeup:
For persons with oily skin, summer and hot temperatures impact skin pores. wearing too much makeup will make your skin absorb these products, which can cause acne.
4- Sleeping with makeup on:
Sleeping with make-up on will lead to clogging of the pores and filling them with bacteria, and this is the best environment for the appearance of acne and pimples.
To have healthy skin, we recommend using make-up removal and washing your face with a medical cleanser, and the last step is to apply a suitable moisturizer for oily skin.
5- Using face cleanser a lot:
Excessive use of face cleanser is considered one of the wrong habits for oily skin since it causes dryness and damages the skin's natural barrier, making it extremely sensitive and prone to acne and pigmentation. To keep the skin barrier healthy, use the face cleanser only once a day.
6- Using unsuitable skincare products:
Using cosmetics that aren't suited for oily skin will irritate it and increase its sensitivity and sebum secretion. That is why we advise you to use products that are suitable only for oily skin, and you can know that through the product information on each package. It's also best to consult a dermatologist to determine the appropriate products for your skin type.
We also recommend that you test any new product on a small part of your skin first to determine if it is suitable for you.
7- Not having a healthy sleep:
Healthy sleep is very important for every part of our bodies, as it builds our skin while we’re sleeping, and removes skin injuries and infections that arise throughout the day. Not getting enough sleep will make your skin dull and cause dark circles and puffiness around the eyes.
And remember that any healthy habit you develop will give a good impact on your skin's health and freshness!
8- Not using sunblock:
Excessive direct sun exposure, especially during the afternoon hours, causes the skin to absorb a large amount of UVA rays and heat. UV rays cause significant damage to the skin, including sunburn, increased sebum secretion, skin pigmentation, and skin darkening over time. As a result, you should use appropriate sunscreen for your skin and renew it every two hours.
9- Getting rid of acne with an incorrect way:
We all get troubled by the size and shape of pimples & acne, and many people think that the only way to get rid of them is to press them hard or use a pimple needle to open them and extract the white liquid, which is obviously not the case. Because the substance that comes out of pimples can be spread to the rest of the face through infection, this will cause pimples to grow rather than disappear, as well as the emergence of pimple traces and pigmentations, which will take time to treat.
10- Having an unhealthy lifestyle:
A healthy lifestyle is one of the most essential factors affecting our skin's health, and relying on an unhealthy lifestyle, such as fast food, preservative-laden foods, and meals high in fat and spicy foods, increases excess sebum and acne.
To have a healthy & fresh skin, we recommend eating balanced meals rich in vitamins & minerals.
