Health Matters Nutrition is a passion path
Following your passion is the best thing you can do for yourself!
"Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate."
-Jon Bon Jovi
That’s what our interviewee has done. Meet Tulin Youssef Elberry, a 34-year-old mom who decided to start her career with the thing she loves the most: healthy nutrition.
Thanks to Tulin, A healthy life has become an easy option, with health matters nutrition!
When did your passion about healthy lifestyle start?
It has always been part of my life, But it started to feel right during Covid times.
I discovered my passion for healthy foods and I turned my life upside down ever since. I’ve always been into playing sports, going to the gym, horseback riding in the desert and I’ve always loved cooking and food in general. I loved creating new recipes, so I managed to combine both healthy and cooking at the same time during Covid times.
Where did you get the idea of Health Matters Nutrition?
I’ve always been interested in nutrition knowledge, I research a lot and I have good information about the know-how of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
I decided I want to take it as a career because I wanted to be healthier myself during Covid. We all got stuck at home doing nothing and eating whatever was in front of us and this affected a lot of people including myself, so I decided to start taking courses and invest in myself to learn more about nutrition. I started with myself first and I successfully lost 14 kilograms and then pursued with other clients afterwards.
What were the obstacles that faced you when you started your own business?
I started during the covid lockdown and it was so hard to start learning and studying all over again. But this time it meant a lot to me and I loved learning all of that new information on how to live a healthier lifestyle.
Who's the biggest supporter in your business journey?
My family and my husband of course were my biggest supporters. They keep pushing me forward to be better and better. I’m nothing without them.
How do you balance your business with your personal life?
I’m not gonna lie. It is hard, but doable. Time management as well as organizing your thoughts and tasks enables you to do both together.
Usually, I try to prepare everything in advance and give everything its proper time, “work time and personal time.”
What's the most valuable advice that you can give a woman who's planning to start her own business?
- Start with small steps.
- Write down all your thoughts on paper and start planning your next move.
- Do not ever give up and keep trying. One day you will reach your dreams.
Go for it and do not ever leave your dream behind. Keep trying until one day you will find success in a job that you really love, and you will keep doing it until the end of your life.
Tell us more about your healthy nutrition programs.
My program aims to change your lifestyle into a healthier one by teaching you what to eat instead of just dieting. It’s a healthy balanced meal, delicious and healthy at the same time without depriving yourself of any kind of food.
What are your plans after the Akla Helwa show?
Hopefully, we can continue Akla Helwa. I’m also planning to do video recipes, video tips, and ideas of how to change your lifestyle from bad habits into a healthier one Inshallah.
Don’t eat less, eat better!
What's your advice to people who want a healthy lifestyle but are still hesitant to begin?
I would tell them that a Healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean depriving yourself from delicious food, it’s not eating all sautéd and grilled, it’s not about losing weight only to attend a wedding or wear a dress or suit that doesn’t fit. It’s a lifelong healthy choice that you will thank yourself for later on. Take the step and you will see how your body will reward you. Don’t keep your eyes on the final target but set small milestones and take it one step at a time, and when you finish a milestone celebrate it and move to the next one until one day you will find yourself at the final target without even noticing.
It’s not about how much you eat, it’s about the quality of the food you're eating. Don’t eat less, eat better!
What do you say to people who think that healthy and tasty do not mix?
I would say try my recipes first and judge later. I bet you will love it!
You have kids, do you raise them on healthy food? Tell us How to raise a healthy kid?
Yes, I’ve one daughter Souphia. She is 6 and a half. I teach her all the guidelines of healthy food, what to eat and what not to eat and I cook for my whole house my daily healthy food. They eat everything with me and alhamdulillah they love it and enjoy healthy recipes.
It’s about teaching our kids that healthy food is more delicious than junk food and at the same time I show her how we can turn any meal into a healthier version that still tastes very nice and delicious.
What's your plan for Health Matters Nutrition?
I'm in the phase now of building myself up more with knowledge to be able to help more people as much as I can. That’s my main aim from the very beginning “to help people become better and healthier physically and mentally as well.”
